The INN bids a fond farewell to Deokie Santo after 20 years of service.
If you have visited The INN’s main office, Mary Brennan INN soup kitchen or most recently the Center for Transformative Change (CTC) in the last 20 years, it’s likely you have been greeted by the big smile and warm demeanor belonging to Deokie Santo. Since 2004, Deokie has served as The INN’s longest-running administrative assistant in a variety of locations and recently decided it was finally time to retire. Although everyone at The INN is sad to see her go, we are thrilled to know that Deokie plans to spend more precious time with her grown son and daughter and two grandsons. She also has plans to become an INN volunteer in her spare time! On her last day in the office, INN staff members gathered at the CTC for a special farewell get-together to see Deokie off, sharing their favorite stories and best wishes for a happy, healthy and enjoyable retirement. Deokie was excited for what’s to come but will also miss her work “family” at The INN. On behalf of all of the staff, board members and volunteers at The INN, we would like to publicly wish Deokie all the best in this next phase in life and let her know that she has left an INNdelible mark on this organization and everyone who has crossed her path.
