Young people are an integral part of The INN’s mission to promote awareness and meet the needs of hungry and homeless Long Islanders. There are many ways students can make a difference in the lives of so many. See below for all Youth Opportunities at The INN.
Update as of 4/24/23: We are thrilled to announce the return of weekday afternoon volunteer shifts for all students ages 10 & up! The shift is Monday-Friday only (weekends are not available) from 2:30-4:30pm. Students will help in our soup kitchen, boutique and warehouse by sorting, stocking and packing up donations for distribution to guests. They will not have any direct contact with the guests we serve. Adult supervision is required for ages 10-15. All volunteers must register online in advance to schedule a shift. On the registration form, choose the student volunteer shift options.
The INN’s Youth Advisory Board is made up of High School and middle school student volunteer representatives (grades 6-12) from various schools.
Our goal is to help find ways to educate and engage youth about hunger and homelessness on Long Island, while offering hands on volunteer opportunities to help make a difference.
