Butera’s volunteers cook and donate turkey stock to the Mary Brennan INN soup kitchen

Martin Butera, owner of Butera’s restaurant wanted to make sure the soup kitchen was fully “stocked” with the base for delicious soups to serve to the guests. He donated his time and ingredients to make enough concentrated turkey stock to feed 800 guests at the Mary Brennan INN.

His restaurant, with locations in Woodbury, Bayshore and Sayville, has been supporting The INN for eight years. During the pandemic, they donated their famous chicken meatballs to guests, and for the last two years, they have catered our Volunteer Appreciation Dinner. Martin’s wife Laurie volunteers at the take-out window in the soup kitchen on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

“Martin and Laurie are the real deal,” said Jean C. Victor, Jr., Director of the Mary Brennan INN. “Not only is their food delicious, but they are truly committed to helping to serve the community any way they can. We are so grateful for their support.
