2018 Marks 35 Years of The INN - 01/18/2018

Celebrate our INNaversary!

It’s been 35 years since a group of concerned citizens opened the very first soup kitchen in Nassau County. From that day in 1983, The INN has grown to one of the largest Human Service organizations on Long Island, having served thousands and thousands of hungry and homeless Long Islanders. This year, you will have the opportunity to look back on how we started, see how far we’ve come and where we are headed all in service to the guests. Our original founders, will join hundreds of supporters to celebrate at our annual INNkeepers’ Ball on May 10th, as we continue to uphold The INN’s mission, which has never waived since 1983; to serve hungry and homeless Long Islanders with dignity, respect and love.

Since the issues of poverty are still as prevalent as they were 35 years ago, The INN continues to be dedicated to assisting guests with guidance, resources and referrals for those who are ready, willing and able to take the first steps towards renewed independence and self-sufficiency. Since the launch of CTC in January 2016, we are seeing more and more guests who are eager to overcome their personal challenges and find a pathway out of poverty.

Please stay tuned for all the new ways you can Get INNvolved and ensure The INN’s existence for at least another 35 years, or as long as there are those in need who can benefit from our assistance.
