Backpacks and School Supplies
Help INN guests start off the school year with the right supplies!
Each year, The INN distributes over 1,000 backpacks filled with brand-new school supplies for students who visit the Mary Brennan INN soup kitchen, or live in our family shelter. Please consider a donation of supplies to help us reach our goal and ensure all children in need start off the school year right!

Construction Update - Donation Collections
Due to parking lot construction, the Mary Brennan INN parking lot and drive-thru at 100 Madison Avenue will be closed beginning on Monday, April 6th for approximately 3-4 weeks. Donation collections will continue at our temporary drop-off location, just around the block from the soup kitchen at 99 Sewell Street in Hempstead until further notice.
Open drop-off times are Monday-Friday from 9am to 2pm only. Volunteers are available during drop-off times to help unload donations and tax receipts are available.

PANTRY FOOD
The INN operates the Mary Brennan INN soup kitchen, the largest soup kitchen on Long Island where over 200,000 meals are served annually. You can help us by hosting a food drive in your community of non-perishable, shelf-stable food items.

Personal Care Items (Toiletries)
The INN provides essential personal care items to guests to take with them, as well as an option to shower on-site at our facility. To provide this service, we need both full-sized and travel-sized toiletries like, soap, shampoo and deodorant.
BABY ITEMS
Diapers are an expensive and essential item for families. Little guests make up about 30% of The INN’s guest population. Diapers are needed to distribute weekly, especially in sizes 4 and up. Wipes, pull-ups, baby food and formula are also needed.
CLOTHING
By holding a clothing drive, for in-season items, you are providing guests with appropriate clothing for interviews, special occasions, as well as children’s clothing for the school year. Donate brand new or gently used clothing in all sizes for all ages.
